Is AI-generated content hurting SEO after the latest Google update?
I need to talk about something that's been stressing me out. After the most recent Google Core Update, I noticed a 30% drop in organic traffic on one of my niche sites where I was heavily using AI-generated articles.
To be clear, I wasn't just spammingβI was editing the content, adding personal insights, and fact-checking. But the articles were still probably 70-80% AI-generated.
Meanwhile, my other site with primarily human-written content actually saw a traffic increase during the same period.
My questions for the community:
- Has anyone else noticed this pattern?
- What percentage of AI vs. human content do you think is the "safe zone"?
- Are you adding more personal experience and first-hand information to AI content?
- Is "information gain" (adding genuinely new information Google hasn't seen) the key metric now?
I feel like the era of easy AI SEO is over and we need to adapt. What's your strategy?
