How do you build a personal brand when AI can do what you do?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately and it's honestly keeping me up at night.I'm a designer/writer, and AI can now do a lot of what I do - sometimes even better and definitely faster. So if AI can create designs, write copy, and generate content... what's the point of MY personal brand?**The Existential Crisis:**- If anyone can use ChatGPT to write, why would they hire ME to write?- If anyone can use Midjourney to design, why would they hire ME to design?- What makes ME different when everyone has access to the same AI tools?**The Traditional Advice Doesn't Work Anymore:**People say "build your personal brand around your unique skills" - but what if those skills can be replicated by AI?People say "showcase your portfolio" - but what if AI can create similar work in seconds?People say "be authentic and show your personality" - but is that enough to build a business on?**What I'm Struggling With:**1. **Differentiation**: How do I stand out when everyone has the same AI superpowers?2. **Value Proposition**: What's my value if AI can do the technical work?3. **Positioning**: Do I position myself as an "AI expert" or do I downplay the AI use?4. **Authenticity**: How do I be authentic when so much of my work is AI-assisted?**Some Ideas I'm Exploring:****Option 1: Lean Into AI**- Brand myself as an "AI-powered [profession]"- Show people how I use AI better than others- Teach others how to use AI tools- Position AI as my competitive advantage**Option 2: Emphasize the Human Touch**- Focus on strategy, taste, and curation- Highlight the parts AI can't do (yet)- Brand around experience and judgment- Position myself as the "human in the loop"**Option 3: Hybrid Approach**- Be transparent about AI use- Focus on results, not methods- Build brand around problem-solving- Let the work speak for itself**Option 4: Pivot Entirely**- Move into areas AI can't replace (yet)- Focus on relationships and networking- Build brand around community- Become the connector, not the creator**My Questions for You:**1. How are YOU thinking about personal branding in the age of AI?2. What makes you valuable if AI can do what you do?3. Do you lean into AI or emphasize your human qualities?4. Have you successfully differentiated yourself? How?5. Are there examples of people who are doing this well?**The Bigger Question:**Is "personal brand" even relevant anymore, or do we need a completely new framework for how we position ourselves in an AI-powered world?I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially if you've figured this out or are struggling with the same questions.
